How can we help?
Planar is made by a small team and every message is read by a person who works on the app. Start with the quick answers, or write to us.
Most questions end here.
Scanning, Pro, accounts and where your files live. If yours is not on the list, email us.
Planar does not find the edges of my page
Edge detection needs contrast: a white page on a white desk is the hardest case. Put the page on a darker surface, keep all four corners in frame and hold the phone steady for a moment.
If the outline is still off, take the shot anyway and drag the corners yourself on the review screen. The flattened result is the same.
The text came out wrong or empty
Text is read on your phone, so it depends on the scan. Use the Magic look, make sure the page is in focus, and avoid strong shadows across the text. Handwriting and very small print are harder for any recognizer.
If a page is in another language, set it under Me › Text recognition › Languages. Automatic works for most documents.
I paid for Pro but the app says Free
Go to Me › Planar Pro › Restore purchases while signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with. On a new phone, that is all it takes.
If you have a Planar account, signing in brings Pro with it on any device. If neither works, email us with the store and the date of purchase.
How do I cancel or change my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the store, so Apple and Google require you to do it there: App Store subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions. Me › Planar Pro › Manage subscription in the app takes you to the right one.
Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period you already paid for.
Where are my scans? Are they backed up?
Only on your phone. Planar has no cloud, which is why nothing about your documents ever leaves the device. The flip side: if the phone is lost or the app is removed, the scans go with it.
Keep the ones that matter by exporting them as PDFs to Files, Google Drive, iCloud Drive or wherever you keep documents. Your phone's own backup also includes the app's data.
I forgot the password on a PDF
We cannot open it either. The PDF is encrypted with AES-256 on your phone and Planar does not keep the password. The original document is still in the app, so export it again with a new password.
The app lock will not let me in
App lock uses your phone's own Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or passcode, so it opens with whatever unlocks the phone. After too many failed attempts the OS pauses biometrics: lock and unlock your phone with its passcode, then try again.
